TODD MOSBY
HEARTLAND BAND
A musical travelogue that tone-paints the geography and spirit of America.
Todd Mosby is an award-winning composer, guitarist, and inventor based in St. Louis, Missouri.
Serving as the second chapter in Mosby’s ongoing musical travelogue series, American Heartland reflects a lifetime of artistic exploration and deep regional roots that tone-paints the geography and spirit of America translating place, memory, and culture into cinematic musical experiences that connect deeply with listeners around the world.
Mosby is known for his genre-defying musical language, where he layers jazz, folk, New Age, blues, rock, bossa nova, and North Indian classical music into richly textured soundscapes that reflect both depth and technical mastery.
Over the course of his career, Mosby has released seven albums and collaborated with many of the world’s most respected studio musicians. His work has earned multiple industry awards and critical acclaim, and he is recognized for creating music that is both intellectually engaging and resonant.
Mosby crafts sophisticated yet accessible music, in the tradition of artists like Steely Dan, Wes Montgomery, James Taylor, and Joni Mitchell. His compositions feature compelling melodic structures and complex instrumental passages that appeal to both seasoned musicians and casual listeners alike.
His individualistic and panoramic artistic perspective is on full display with American Heartland. “Witchi Tai” is an original musical rendition of the Native American phrase, reimagined in two parts. Part one is a New Age instrumental, and part two is driving 1970’s acoustic-rock with haunting vocalise.
Those images evoke the soul of Missouri. The rolling hills, the golden fields, the star-filled skies, the lush greens, the sound of distant thunder storms, and the breathtaking sunrise over the Ozarks are all images and stories he brings to life on a concert stage which always leave audiences wanting more.
